This is a picture taken with my holga 135 of my first wheat pasting on the street. It is at North Shore in Chattanooga, TN. My paste mix was actually mostly elmers glue mixed with a tacky glue. Then I went back over it with a real Wheat Paste. It has been up and safe for almost two months. I pasted it up december 2012. My process is that I take a piece of newspaper. Put white gesso or wallpaper paint on it. Then I paint with black India Ink. I try and draw images I find elegant or that relate to me or tell a story. This particular image is a woman in the rain and I find great elegance and peace within the image. I like to paste my art in public so that someone walking by can experience a moment of artistic enjoyment or an emotional reaction in a place that they didn’t expect to. I put my initials on this piece in the bottom right corner. After this I put my nickname “Jack” and the date on the painting.
